I tip the scales at 280 lbs. I had heard reviewers stating that you didn't have to have your bolt holes centered in the plate and to just worry about centering the plate where you wanted it. I NEEDN'T HAVE WORRIED.The plate is made of thick metal and is a heavy piece of equipment in itself. After mounting I hung from the mount by my fingertips. I couldn't bear to throw them away and they are now in my high-grade fastener collection that I'll probably use to supplement other kits where "some assembly is required."I got this Sanus Mount for about $70, which is a screaming deal. The brackets you mount on the back of the TV are the same way.
I've never seen such a complete package in any mounting system or anything I've assembled at home. I was concerned about the plate flexing if I didn't have bolts on both sides. The mount didn't budge or flex. The screw selection is also huge. Heavy and solid. I'm pretty sure if my house was hit by a tornado, you'd find the plate still stuck to its piece of wall and the TV still attached to the plate all stuck in a tree a mile away.To give you an idea, I mounted this bracket to a brick wall that was behind my drywall. There were at least four different screw packages for different sized televisions that I didn't use.
Compared to other mounts I've bought, this one is easily worth twice that price.
Could not ask for more out of this set up, and amazon for having it so reasonably priced.I looked for a tv mount for my 46inch lcd at retail, and could not believe what they try and charge for a piece of metal.Ordered from amazon, got it very quickly, had it up in about 30mins, and saved about half over Best Buy. Or even Wally world for that matter.
This product is great, especially at half the price of a box store. The instructions were pretty bad. Use a little common sense and the instructions as a guildline and you should be fine.
I own a 40" LCD TV and moved into a new home with almost no option for placing the TV, unless it was a wall mount. This was a question I had researched before buying the product, but if you haven't learned the hard way before, then take it from me.). If you have a TV in the range it advertises, this mount is excellent for the money.
When I installed the mount, you can tell just from the heavy-duty powder-coated metal frame and hardware that it will hold on tight forever and ever. Second, if you know your wall has metal studs behind the drywall DO NOT mount your TV on the wall. This product had good reviews and a good price.
TWO IMPORTANT NOTES: First, this product is one of the "tilt-only" products, so if you want lateral tilting, this one won't do it, but it is clearly advertised that way so just make sure you understand what you are looking for when you coose a mount. The lag bolts are very beefy with deep, sharp threads that made me very comfortable hanging my expensive TV. It also comes with a huge selection of hardware to attach the mount to your TV for convenience.
Metal studs are nowhere close to as strong as wood studs, and if you know the interior walls of your home are metal, you will need to make other arrangements (I tore my wall down and had to re-frame two wood studs into the existing wall to make sure the mount would hold properly. Great product overall, though.
The tilting feature is wonderful. The workmanship is really good. This tilting wall mount is made of very strong material. The angle can be changed with one finger. It was reasonably easy to install. The use of a level is MUST. It tilts and slides very smoothly. No extra effort is required.Great product.
